Our History

Our bank was founded in the Karlstad area of Minnesota in 1925. In 1995, the bank changed its name from Karlstad State Bank to Prime Security Bank and also expanded into Lancaster, Minnesota, approximately 25 miles away. The bank expanded into the Twin Cities communities of Shakopee, Minnesota (opened in 1998), Mound, Minnesota (opened in 2003), and Eagan, Minnesota (opened in 2008). The bank has experienced tremendous growth in the past few years, based on the need for more personal service and our ability to be more responsive than the large corporate banks.
